The Daily Drop Cap, if you haven’t seen it before, is a blog set up by typographer & illustrator Jessica Hirsche. She posts (almost) daily a new hand-crafted decorative initial cap which you can use for free in your personal blogs to make them even more lovely. Thank you to Jessica for making such beautiful typography available.

The Best in Custom Letters 2009, from Lettercult. 15 (yes fifteen) pages of beautiful hand done type.

Lovely website on graphic designer Lester Beall. The first graphic designer to have a one man show at the Museum Of Modern Art. The site includes a section on his surrealist typography.

Neue is an online magazine/project concerned with two things, type and cities. The entire site is based on typographic submissions from designers.

Designer Michael Paukner’s Flickr Photostream is filled with goodies, like this atheist Christmas card.

The wonderful work of Christian Northeast (what a cool name) found via the Jealous Curator.

This is currently my favourite toy on the web. I absolutely love this!

Wordle is a kind of cloud generator. You can lash in some text of your choosing, or the address to your website feed and it produces a nice typographic cloud. Once it’s made you can change fonts, colours and layout. Could be good for t-shirt ideas? Here’s two I made earlier – the first is “Don’t be cruel” by Elvis and the second is text from my web feed for Laughing Lion Design.

Here’s a three and a half minute clip of some lovely posters, hand painted by the students at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. The first part of the clip is brilliant – showing one of the students making it look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy – because he’s so talented.

This video is a typographic “treatment” of the old Abbot and Costello routine of “Who’s on first”. It’s very nicely done. There’s actually tons of this type of thing on youtube but I really liked this.
