About
Welcome, hello and thanks for visiting the site. My name is Jennifer Farley. I am a designer, illustrator and design instructor based in Ireland. Laughing Lion Design is the web home to my design and illustration portfolio and information on training in Adobe Design Software. On the blog you’ll find articles about graphic design, illustration and Photoshop. There over 100 free Photoshop tutorials on the site which I hope you find useful.
Photoshop, Illustrator & Lightroom Training
I teach people to use Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom. I’ve been instructing in Photoshop and Illustrator for over eight years and just over a year teaching Lightroom. As an instructor I have designed and developed the curriculum and examinations of a FETAC approved design course. I love teaching the Adobe design software products and I find the learners love working with them. They are incredibly powerful tools for designers and photographers but are also a lot of fun to learn. Since starting to teach design software, my students have included people from the following career fields (and many more):
Graphic Design
Web Design
Architecture
Art
Music
Interior Design
I write a Photoshop column in PhotographyBB magazine and write (almost) daily for the Sitepoint Design blog.
Design & Illustration
As well as instructing on how to use the programs, I use Photoshop and Illustrator on a daily basis for my design and illustration work. I have a Masters Degree in Design For Digital Media and I’ve worked for over ten years as a web and graphic designer both as an employee and as a freelance designer. More recently I have moved into freelance illustration work and last year wrote and illustrated my first children’s picture book.
Photography
My photography portfolio, which is mainly portraits, travel and photojournalism is here.
If you are interested in training or need some illustration work done, please feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you. All the best,
Jennifer
