Today is officially Proclamation day in Ireland. In schools around the country it will be a day of song, music, drama, poetry and art as they celebrate Proclamation Day, commemorating events of Ireland in 1916 and creating a vision for the country in the future. In related events, there is currently an exhibition taking place in the (also historic) United Arts Club in Dublin called Making History and it features the work of several members of Illustrators Ireland including myself. The exhibition opened on Thursday 10th of March and continues until the 28th March.

For the exhibition I made 7 portraits of the leaders of the 1916 Rising and a set of portraits of the women (often the unsung heroes) of the time. Below you can see my portraits of the men of 1916.
