The hot-off-the-press, just released edition of Wallpaper* magazine features not one but eight different cover designs by the wonderful illustrator Noma Bar. The illustrator was commisioned for an article looking at interior design in eight very different countries. What makes these covers extra special is that these are not flat, two dimensional pictures but actually room sets painted and arranged in three dimensions.
As with all of Noma Bar’s work, the images (room sets) are very clever, colourful yet not instantly recognisable. Most people will take a little bit of time to digest the image before getting that “a-ha” moment of recognition.
Here’s the full set of covers. My own personal favourite is Scandinavia.
