Animal ABC Illustrations
A couple of people have asked about the headers on this site since I revamped it. The headers feature slim cut-out sections of some illustrations I did a while ago. The illustrations were a set (that I still haven’t finished) of ABC of animals. I drew the animals in Illustrator, brought the paths into Photoshop and then brightly coloured and textured them with all kinds of images to rough them up a bit. I wanted it to look like they had been printed with offset plates. The illustration of the hen is the one I included in the Mailme Art project last month, so if you’ve visited here before it might look familiar. When (not if) I finish the set they will be printed at A4 size and are going to the infants class of a school in Longford, but for now here’s four of the twelve I’ve completed.

Thanks Mike and Heather!
Simple, elegant, with a nice touch of retro.
These are just fantastic. I love the designs. I’ve been reading your blog for a while but never commented before. Not anymore
Thanks Mike.
Thanks Darren, don’t be a stranger! Ah sure I know myself I go on loads of blogs, including your own and don’t comment even when I love stuff. Really glad you commented today though.
