I, Robot Cover/Poster
I’m not much of sci-fi fan but I love the book and film of I, Robot. In a little homage to both I recently designed a poster of my interpretation. It started life as a little sketch that was much more complicated than what you can see below, but I simplified it, a lot.

I love everything about this except the wood grain texture. It’s really distracting to see the wooden planks so clearly over the Robot.
Seems to me there’s some Wizard of Oz Tin Man in there, too…
Fun design!
Thanks Heather, yes indeed there are many metal-y type characters in there.
Hi Derek. Yeah I hear you on the wood grain. I have to admit I go a bit texture mental. I usually end up throwing in photos of walls, wood, stones into pictures, but maybe this could be toned down a bit. I appreciate your comment!
My pleasure. I follow you on twitter and have gotten plenty of great advice from you. I’m a copywriter, not a graphic designer–but more and more clients expect graphics to accompany the words.
That’s funny, i noticed a texture but didn’t realise it was wood grain until i read the comments. I think the only problem with it is the lines between the ‘planks’, but it didn’t put me off before i thought about it.
I love the vintage-futuristic look. Fabulous.
Hello!
Do you have this print for sale?
Best Regards
