Everything You Wanted To Know About Selections But Were Afraid To Ask
Last week on Sitepoint I wrote a series of articles on how to use each of the selection tools in Photoshop. The Geometric tools for selecting easy shapes, the Freehand tools for getting into more intricate places and the colour based tools which are used for rapidly picking areas of similar colour. The series finished with some tips and tricks to help you speed up and improve your selections. So if you’re new to Photoshop you might find these articles helpful and if you’re a more familiar Photoshop user I think you still might find something of interest.

It’s good that I stumbled upon your site. I am not into photoshop but sometimes I need to copy a particular part of my photo and I didn’t know that one I should be using is the tools that you mentioned. Now, I will not be stuck in using the rectangular tool for selecting and copying photos by part.
Great series, Jennifer! I’m jonesing for that paintbrush selection tool… *sigh*
