Photoshop Magnetic Boards
Came across this the other day and thought they were pretty cool. They’re a set of magnetic photo boards with the magnets created to look like various palettes in Photoshop and Illustrator. They’re obviously very popular because they’re sold out on the site at the moment.

They’re available (presumably when re-stocked) from menios.us
I wonder what the issue is with copyright for something like this?

Pretty funny. It would be interesting if they did older versions of the programs. It would be cool to see the evolution of PhotoShop’s tool bar on my refrigerator. Okay that sounds weird, but it would be cool. Good question about the copy write on this, Adobe owns the look of the program, so it seems in a gray area at best.

Given the huge popularity and ubiquity of Photoshop (I say ubiquity because “to photoshop” has been in usage for a long time now), it’s almost a bit surprising that Adobe hasn’t gone down the path of supplementary merchandising like this themselves. The market (geeky designers) is definitely there. I agree that the copyright issue is an interesting one.

Hi Devlin and Tracey
I wanted to sell some Photoshop themed t-shirts but was worried Adobe’s lawyers might come knocking on the door. Maybe they’re happy with the extra advertising? That’s probably a little naive…
